Landscape Architect/Urban Designer--Atlanta, GA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to-

  • Participate in the following project types- community planning, roadway and streetscape planning & design, urban design, trail design, parks and recreation planning & design, and large-scale mobility planning.

  • Participate in or lead the development of the following project types-

    • Bike, pedestrian, complete street, and streetscape improvement projects

    • Landscaping and streetscape plans

    • Green infrastructure planning and design

    • Transit station improvements

    • Community engagement tools

    • Planning documentation

    • Project renderings to show before and after conditions

    • Report graphics and layouts

  • As needed, assist other engineers with planting plans, grading plans, traffic studies, and ADA design.

  • Work to develop the Landscape Architecture practice in the Atlanta office, which may include the following responsibilities-

    • Managing and mentoring employees.

    • Strategizing on workload and practice focus.

    • Identifying and developing project opportunities.

    • Participating in business development.

    • Writing proposals.

Key Attributes-
About you- You are a creative problem solver with a background in landscape architecture and a passion for projects which improve multi-modal mobility, public space, the natural environment, and quality of life. In addition, you will ideally have the following attributes-

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to author reports and technical memoranda.

  • Experience or desire to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Experience developing landscape architecture construction documentation.

  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing the skills of less-experienced staff members.

  • Aptitude with a variety of CAD and graphic design software.

  • Project experience with multi-modal transportation planning & design, streetscape design, park master planning and design, and multi-use trail design.

  • Project experience with green infrastructure planning and design.

  • Self-starter excited to wear many hats and take on new roles and responsibilities.

  • Firm grasp of low-maintenance plant and hardscape materials appropriate for the Atlanta region.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications-

  • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or closely related field.

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in the field of Landscape Architecture.

  • Registered landscape architect in Georgia or ability to obtain Georgia licensure within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in the field or Landscape Architecture.

  • Experience working in transportation engineering and planning.

  • Experience with project management on a variety of project types.

  • Experience on projects involving state departments of transportation.

  • Ability to hand-sketch in team meetings, charettes, and in meetings with clients.
